Compost 101
Come learn all about compost. During this class we will show you our compost in progress, make Fladden together and you will receive a bag of compost to use in your own garden.
We will answer the questions below and any other questions you may have:
What’s the difference between structured and unstructured soil?
What are IMOs, Indigenous Micro Organisms, and why do we need them?
What’s the difference between compost and mu
Why are some compost piles hot and some are cold?
What are the components to a compost pile and how much of each should be used?
After the compost pile is made, what do you do next?
How can determine the proper moisture, airflow and carbon-to-nitrogen balance
What to do when something goes wrong – Bad smell, slow decomposition and pests?
How do you know when the compost is done?
What are the ways to use the compost?
Next, together we will make Fladden, a mix of cow manure, eggshells, basalt dust and compost preparations that is used to infuse the soil with vitality and stimulates microbial activity.
