We demonstrate

and teach how to cultivate LIFE. Our primary focus is growing a diverse living ecosystem of microbes, fungi and animals underground – in the soil. We invite you and your friend to join us on our journey toward a closer relationship with nature and abundant harvests. There is no better way to learn than getting your hands dirty.

  • Eliminating soil disturbance from tilling, synthetic fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides which damage soil’s complex structure and biology.

  • Keeping the soil surface covered all the time with organic matter and living roots of plant-life to protect it from the elements, reduce erosion, slow/capture water, draw down carbon and nourish underground life

  • Growing a diversity of plants, rather than growing one crop intensively and repeatedly to boost and strengthen soil microbes

  • Integrating animals as part of a fertility-boosting rotation of crops and animals.

We are committed to the following soil life stewardship practices:

Mission

To create an educational and experiential farm that integrates regenerative agricultural practices fosters hands-on learning, and reconnects people with nature and food. La Buena Vida Huerta empowers individuals to contribute to a healthier planet and resilient communities through innovative design, biodiversity, and ecological harmony.

Vision

To build a thriving community of regenerative farmers and advocates, supported by fertile soils, sustainable practices, and a shared commitment to ecological balance. We envision a world where food security, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship are accessible to all, fostering harmony between humanity and the earth.

Educational Integration

Offer hands-on classes that engage students in every step of the farm’s development process, creating a continuous learning environment.

Environmental Documentation

Systematically record changes above and below the ground, highlighting the benefits of regenerative farming practices.

Connection with Nature

Develop a welcoming space where visitors can build a closer relationship with nature and the food they consume.

Intentional Design

Execute farm planning and operations with natural energy flow, agroecology principles, and aesthetic beauty at the forefront.

Ecological Resilience

Enhance the farm’s ability to withstand environmental challenges by promoting species diversity and managing water and wind events effectively.

Joyful Experiences

Create light, fun, and rejuvenating visitor experiences, fostering inspiration and connection with sustainable living.

Empowered Regenerative Farming

Increase the number of trained regenerative farmers and farms practicing sustainable agriculture.

Enhanced Soil and Nutrition

Develop carbon-rich, fertile soil that produces highly nutritious food for healthier communities.

Food Security and Sovereignty

Contribute to food sovereignty by enabling more people to access sustainable and secure food sources.

Innovative Agricultural Practices

Advance research and implement best practices for soil health and farm productivity.

Environmental Resilience

Achieve greater resistance to pests and extreme weather events through ecological balance and biodiversity.

Carbon Sequestration

Capture and store carbon in the soil, supporting climate change mitigation.

Thriving Biodiversity

Create a sanctuary for local birds, bees, and beneficial insects, ensuring a harmonious and resilient ecosystem.
